Super Stock (Fray) Body Specifications
- The body must completely cover the chassis when viewed from above except for legal stock openings (i.e. windows).
- Each body must have a front windshield. If originally equipped, bumpers must be present.
- The body must be T-jet original, hard body reproduction, off-brand or reissue. Body must be T-jet sized and equipped with 2 screw posts.
- The body may be lowered and lightened, but not be weighted.
- Fender wells may have minimal cutting for tire clearance provided body rule #1 is not violated.
- Two screws must be used to mount the body to the chassis. Screw heads may be ground down for track clearance.
- Hardtop cars such as Falcons and Mustangs may remove the interiors. Convertibles must have a finished interior and windshield. If you are unsure if a body is legal, check with the tech committee prior to the race. Any other modifications are deemed illegal unless approved by tech committee.
- Bodies crafted with the addition of plastic/resin weight to lower the center of gravity are allowed.
- Rear Window may be removed.
Super Stock (Fray) Chassis Specifications
- Chassis must be stock Aurora Thunderjet copper. Tuff Ones chassis not permitted. Model motoring ThunderPlus chassis is allowed. Solder between chassis plates may be used to correct chassis with excess internal corrosion.
- Removal of gear plate RAIL, forward of the arm gear hole is permitted; patent number must be legible. No other cutting, grinding, or drilling of chassis or gear plate permitted.
- Solder or glue is allowed to attach gears to shafts.
- Gear plate must use stock brass 14-tooth armature pinion and 24 tooth brass idler and driven gears. Gears may be polished to provide a smooth mesh but must not be drilled, beveled, thinned or altered. Hollow-back gears not permitted.
- Stock Aurora guide pins or stock type replacements are allowed and may be shortened to desired length. Gluing of guide pins to chassis permitted.
- Rear end gears must be stock T-jet 9 tooth drive pinions with stock T-jet 15 tooth crown gear.
- Armatures must be 15.5 ohms or higher. No dewinds or rewinds. Balancing & air-gapping allowed.
- Magnets may be stock T-jet, red/white Tuff Ones or Johnny Lightning and may be shimmed. No Turbo, Super II, Xlerator or polymer magnets permitted.
- Brushes must be flat (no domes or grooved) stock or stock replacement T-jet copper/carbon (No silver brushes).
- Pickup shoes must be stock or stock replacement that is made of copper or copper/bronze material. Silver pickup shoes are not allowed. Alteration to the stock shape of the shoe is permitted only to limit travel and/or ensure contact with the track rail. Excess bending to flatten the shoe and increase the contact patch of the pickup shoe with the track rail is not permitted.
- Any tire, wheel, and axle combination is permitted providing it does not violate body and chassis rules.
- Car must pass freely through a 1-5/16" (1.313 inches) Tech Block.
