The Minic Motorway System

The Minic Motorway system was introduced in Great Britain in 1964 with electrically powered HO scale vehicles. Mechanically, they are a little different than "traditional" slot cars of the day and aftermarket performance parts weren't readily offered.

The Minic Motorway system soon expanded into a complementary system for the Minic model railways, similar to the way Faller handled their dual auto and rail offering. There were a number of associated buildings and interchange road & rail pieces, level crossings etc made to combine the two systems. More emphasis was placed on the racing cars around 1967, however Minic ceased production of their Minic Motorways racing sets in 1970.
